The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) guaranteed that exclusive specialized and expert courses had been de-perceived by the UGC and that there was no danger to its customary projects.

In a new interest to its understudies not to freeze, Vice-Chancellor M.G. Krishnan and University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor K.S. Rangappa reported that the KSOU would approach the UGC to proceed with its acknowledgment, contending that the courses being referred to had just been pulled back.

Shielding choices taken amid their residencies, the Vice-Chancellors in a joint public interview here, citing a letter dated May 26, 2015 from Renu Batra, Joint Secretary, UGC, routed to Vice-Chancellors of all State open colleges and IGNOU, battled that the UGC had proceeded with acknowledgment for 2014-15 and had said that existing conditions might be kept up for 2015-16.

In any case, Dr. Batra, in the letter, said that a few colleges had been abusing the standards for courses offered in open and separation learning mode and had looked for a sworn statement from such colleges promising to consent to the standards.

By the by, Dr. Batra's letter was trailed by an open notice on June 16 ending acknowledgment to the projects past 2012-13.

It is uncertain whether the KSOU documented a sworn statement, as looked for by the UGC, or whether the inability to do as such actuated the UGC to make a move.

Prof. Rangappa, the previous Vice-Chancellor of KSOU, said the college had cleared up its point of view to the recent Distance Education Council, and from there on began offering courses outside the .
