The National Eligibility Test (NET) is the national level entrance examination in India for postgraduate candidates who wish to qualify for admission in PhD research and/or university level teaching jobs in India.

UGC(University Grants Commission) conducts NET examination twice every year in the months of June and December.

NET examination is conducted for these two posts mentioned as below:-

JRF(Junior Research Fellowship).

Lectureship.


Eligibility Criteria :
Required marks criteria for NET exam is 55% in masters degree.5% marks relaxation is provide for SC/ST candidate .

Final year of Masters degree candidate can apply here .

But your subject for PG course must be in UGC subject list .

You have completed PG course through Distance Mode so you are applicable for NET exam if your degree is recognized .

Age criteria for NET Exam:-

i) Junior Research Fellowship : Not more than 28 years . Age relaxation up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC / ST / PWD / OBC .

ii) Lectureship : There is no upper age limit .
