The online Applications for the IIT Madras M. Tech Admission 2016 were available from March 7, 2016. One who has qualified in GATE 2016 can avail admissions and can apply after March 20, 2016 when the GATE 2016 result announced. Non GATE candidates can appear for a written test to avail admissions.

IIT Madras M.Tech 2016 Eligibility Criteria:

One must have passed any one of the following Qualifying Degrees:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture
• Master’s degree in Chemistry/Life Sciences/Mathematics/Physics related subjects from educational Institutions approved by UGC/ Government
• Associate Membership holders of the professional bodies for admission into their parent disciplines from the following:

The Institution of Engineers (India) (AMIE)
The Aeronautical Society of India (AMAeSI) (eligible only for aerodynamics,structures and propulsions streams)
The Indian Institute of Metals (AMIIM)
The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, including Polymer and Environmental Group (AMIIChemE)
The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (AMIETE)
Note: Candidates with B.Tech from an IIT with a C.G.P.A. of 8.0 (7.5 for SC/ST) are exempt from GATE criteria.

IIT Madras M.Tech 2016 Selection Procedure:
On the basis of GATE Scores
Candidates who have not studied in any IIT or do not have valid GATE scores will have to appear for a written test and a personal interview.
