On 31.12.2001, a machine which was purchased on 1.1.2000 for Rs 12,000 was sold for Rs. 8,000 Depreciation is provided at 10% per annum on fixed instalment basis. Prepare machinery account for the year 2000 and 2001. 5. Mohan, a retail merchant commenced business with a capital of Rs. 12,000 on 1.1.2004. Subsequently on 1.5.2004 he invested further capital of Rs. 5,000. During the year he has withdrawn Rs. 2,000 for his personal use. On 31.12.2004, his assets and liabilities were as follows. Cash at bank Rs. 3,000 Debtors Rs. 4,000 Stock Rs. 16,000 Furniture Rs. 2,000 Creditors Rs. 5,000 Calculate the profit or loss made during the year 2004. 6. Sun limited opened a branch at Madurai. It invoiced goods to the branch at cost plus 25%. Information was given below Goods sent to the branch (invoice price) Rs. 50,000 Cash sent to branch for expenses Rs. 8,000 Cash sales Rs. 22,000 Credit sales Rs. 23,000 Cash received from debtors Rs. 20,000 Bad debts written off Rs. 600 Stock on 31st December (invoice price) Rs. 4,800 Prepare branch account 7.
