Mahatma Gandhi Degree College was set up as a selective science school in 1969 and offered just college classes. In 1992-93 we began offereing Post-graduate courses. The College Management and the National Education Society has kept their eyes on the instruction needs in the adjoining area. MGPG College as a foundation is a foundation of the National Educational Society, Gorakhpur. The Society itself was Established in 1905. It began Gorakhpur secondary school, now known as Mahatma Gandhi Intermediate College in 1909. The National Educational Society has set up and runs Ram Narain Lal Girl's Inter College and Prakash Narain Institute of PC Technology under its wings.
