MASTER’S IN SOCIAL WORK (M.S.W) course offered by the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan details is as follows: The course of study for the degree of Master of Social Work must be a full-time course and its duration shall be four semesters which is 2 academic years. There will be a University examination at the end of each semester. The curriculum includes of relevant theory and fieldwork. M.S.W. aspirants also are expected to opt for either a Research Project or a Term Paper along with required additional electives of their choice. Eligibility for the Master in Social Work: A applicant applying for Master’s in Social Work should have the following minimum percentage of marks in all subjects (aggregate) at graduation or post-graduation level. General Category 50% Catholic Minority and Reserved Categories (SC/ST/DT/NT) (And OBC/SBC recognized by the State of Maharashtra) 45% An applicant holding Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline (Arts, Science, Commerce, and Social Work) of a recognized University is eligible to apply for admission to Master’s Degree in Social Work. Application forms of applicants, who have appeared for their graduation examination from Universities, will be accepted pending result, provided that their results will be declared before the date of the Entrance Test. All information asked for in the application form should be entered in Block letters. Incomplete application form will not be accepted. Attested copies of the following documents should be attached to the application form: (The original should be produced at the time of interview) Mark / Grade sheets of all examinations the applicant has completed, beginning with S.S.C. or its equivalent. Diploma / Certificates of schooling undergone other than degree education (E.g. Music, Dance, Social Service, Photography, Journalism etc.). Catholic Minority applicants should submit Baptism Certificate. All reserved category applicants should attach the Caste Certificate admission will be given on the basis of the rules of the Government of Maharashtra. Applicants should submit attested copies of mark sheet of 1st ,2nd , and 3rd year Examinations OR mark sheets of all Semesters and the passing certificates. Current Passport size photograph. Foreign applicants must pay US $ 50 for application form and prospectus. Applicants are expected to have adequate and good knowledge of English and a working knowledge of Hindi/Marathi.
