The Class Descriptions offered by The Mat Yoga Studio are as follows: Balls + Bliss (formerly R&R): Locate and release tension hidden in muscles and connective tissue to help prepare the body for meditation. Approximately 10 minutes of ball therapy followed by 20 minutes of guided meditation. Classes ranked by physical exertion, from lowest to highest: Meditation; Senior/Chair; Restorative; R&R; Gentle Flow; Vin/Yin; Deep Stretch; Open Flow; Strong Flow. Deep Stretch: Access and open areas of tension or strain in body, increasing range of motion, core stability, and awareness of healthy body mechanics on and off the mat. Designed for all levels Gentle Flow: Get back to basics with a slower-paced 60-minute Vinyasa flow session. Perfect for beginners and practitioners of all levels who want to brush up on fundamentals. Meditation: Learn more about meditation—an essential element of yogic practice—with this 30-minute voyage into stillness. Open Flow: Spend 60 minutes journeying through the poses of Vinyasa flow and finding transformative moments of stillness. Designed for all levels Restorative: Heal body, mind, and spirit in this gentle 75-minute class adapted to individual needs. Open to all levels Senior/Chair Yoga: Improve strength, flexibility, and mobility through standing or seated yoga poses specially adapted for seniors (55 and older) at any level of health and fitness. Strong Flow: This class is for people who enjoy a physical challenge and like to explore the body's capacity for strength. Alignment cues and hands-on assists are woven in to safely guide through challenging but accessible poses to build strength and flexibility. Recommended for those with some prior yoga experience, but modifications are offered so everyone can work at own pace.
