Re: Maths for CAT Exam
The Common Admission Test (CAT), like virtually all large-scale exams, utilizes multiple forms, or versions, of the test. Hence there are two types of scores involved: a raw score and a scaled score. CAT Syllabus for Mathematics The mathematics section of CAT Exam includes below mention topics 1. Number Systems and LCM and HCF 2. Percentages (Profit and Loss) 3. Interest (Simple and Compound Interest) 4. Speed, Time and Distance 5. Time and Work 6. Averages, Ratio and Proportions 7. Linear and Quadratic Equations 8. Complex Numbers and Logarithms 9. Progressions, Binomial Theorem 10 Surds (Radicals) and Indices 11. Inequality 12. Permutation and Combination 13. Probability and Statistics 14. Functions and Set Theory 15. Geometry (Co-Ordinate Geometry) 16. Trigonometry 17. Mensuration Test Duration and Pattern Four scaled scores will be presented for each candidate: an overall scaled score and three separate scaled scores for each section. As the three sections evaluate distinct sets of knowledge and skills, scores do not correlate across sections. A high score in one section does not guarantee a high score in another section. Percentile rankings are provided for each individual section as well as for the overall exam score. CAT is divided into three sections: • Quantitative Aptitude (QA) having 34 questions • Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) with 32 questions • Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC) with 34 questions The total duration for the exam was 180 minutes and had 100 questions. |
