National Power Training Institute (NPTI), an ISO 9001 ISO 14001 organization, is a National Apex body for Training and Human Resources Development in Power Sector with its Corporate Office at Faridabad.

The program is targeted towards fresh and practicing engineers and is a unique golden opportunity for the Management of Power Utilities to groom bright executives with engineering background who are expected to move to key positions in the near future.

Pedagogy
Class room lectures, seminars, case studies, group discussions, role plays, group works, summer project at organizations connected to electricity business will be resorted to impart knowledge and skills to the students. In addition visits to power stations , Transmission as well as Distribution facilities, manufacturers' works must be organized to ensure that the aspirants have the real 'feel' of the power sector.

Program Structure
This is a 2-year program spread over four Semesters. In the first year, the aspirants take courses in major functional / general management areas like Human Resources, Operations , Finance & Accounting , Marketing, Information Technology and core Power Sector areas. In the second year, the aspirants take compulsory specialized courses in the area of Power and Management. In addition they have to opt from a list of electives covering various specific courses from the areas of Power and Management.


Eligibility for Admission
A) All aspirants (excluding sponsored category) are required to appear for CAT- 2013 Examination conducted by IIMs.

B) The aspirants (including sponsored category) who have obtained B.E./B.Tech/ B.Sc. (Engineering) in any branch of Engineering recognised by the M.D. University/AIU securing a minimum of 60 % marks in aggregate of all semesters or equivalent in terms of CGPA grade are eligible to apply for admission to the course. For SC/ST aspirants minimum pass marks are required. (or equivalent in CGPA grade).

C) Aspirants who have appeared in the current CAT exam conducted by IIMs are only eligible to apply.
