Prior to 1921, there was no Central Authority constituted in the State to advise Government and other Appointing Authorities in the matters of recruitment to the state civil services.

Karnataka Public Service Commission was constituted under the provisions of the Constitution of India on 18-05-1951.

Karnataka Civil Services Eligibility Criteria

Citizen of India.
He must have graduation degree from a recognized institute.
The age between 21 years to 35 years.
Candidates of SC and ST category upper age relaxation of Five years.

Karnataka Civil Services Exam Pattern

Karnataka Civil Services Pre Exam Pattern will be completed in one part. There will be two paper with Total marks will 450

General Studies will be paper first and it will be 150 marks
Optional Subject will be second paper it will be 300 marks
Language will be English and Kannada (candidate can choose both of them)
Each paper will be of two hours duration.
