Viva-voce: The candidate will arrange a display of their work along with selected class work in the Art Gallery/exhibition hall or studio in the University. The External examiner will evaluate their performance on the basis of these; in arrive at final evaluation of the performance of each student. M.F.A. PAINTING -3rdst and 4th SEMESTER DETAILED SYLLABUS (Practical) Examination/ Paper Syllabus M.F.A. Painting 3rd & 4th Semester Paper-II Practical: (Specialisation) (Continuation of the previous year’s study on any selected optional) Medium: Oil/Mix Portraiture-Advanced Compositional Portrait from Life. Male/female/children/ babies with facial features and expressions, in different settings, Rapid sketches with charcoal, Pen/ink, water colour and crayon. Outdoor sketching, emphasis on personal style/technique. Sessional: Canvas: 25 works (30”x36”, 60”x 36”, 18”x24” etc.) Monthly submission of sketches: 300 Solo Exhibition: One Mural Painting- Creative Mural Understanding of the meaning and material value by assembling different chosen material on surface. Experimental/ original composition using advance material, Aesthetic and Social Value of Mural Painting: Sessional: Board/Tile/Mix media/Wall- 20 works (30”x36”,60”x 36”,Size-18”x24”) Monthly submission of sketches: 300 Solo Exhibition: One Creative Composition-The students are required to select a suitable Project for their Art Work in consultation with HoD and work under his guidance or under a teacher approved by him. Students have to experiment in different media and material. The emphasis is on personal style/technique, conceptualization and experimentation with following: Canvas: with oil/Acrylic/Mix medium/Study of Colour/ Form/Texture on Canvas. Collage: with news paper images/textured cloth/mix media/ any other material. Assemblage: Understanding of the meaning and material value by assembling different chosen material on surface. Installation: Working with material in 3D space. Understanding space, material value, context and meaning. Sessional: Canvas: 20 works (30”x36”,60”x 36” etc.) Monthly submission of sketches-300 Assemblage- 02 works Installation- 01 work, Solo Exhibition: One M.F.A. Painting 3rd & 4th Semester Paper-III Elective (Seminar/Presentation) Medium: Documentation Oral/Power-Point presentation Elective: Student can select any subject or area of their interest of the following: Visual Arts/ Performing Arts/Humanity/ Craft/Computer Graphics/Traditional Arts/Literature Course of Study:-The students can go to any other University/Artist/Craftsman/ Workshop/Department after discussion with HOD and obtain the training/study (maximum Five days duration in a month) required. Painting 3rd & 4th Semester Paper-IV Dissertation/Exhibition Viva-Voce Medium: Oral/Power-Point presentation/Display Dissertation: The students are required to select a suitable topic for their Dissertation in consultation with HoD and work under his guidance or under a teacher approved by him. The Dissertation (Typed text 50 pages, Photographical references 25 with his/her own Profile) should be prepared in the prescribed manner and handed over to the HoD through guide positively before two weeks of the commencement of the examination.
