New York University (NYU) is a private, nonsectarian American research university based in New York City. It was established in 1831. NYU is one of the largest private non-profit institutions of American higher education.

MBA/MFA Dual Degree

The NYU MBA/MFA is truly a unique experience, a dual degree graduate program at two highly regarded schools within a top flight university.

The program is a partnership between NYU Stern and the Kanbar Institute of Film & Television at the Tisch School of the Arts.

Students also have access to an array of resources at both the Stern School of Business and the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television within the Tisch School of the Arts.

The first year of the program is spent at NYU Stern, the second year is spent at Kanbar, and the third year is split between the two programs.

In the first year of the program, students take most of their courses at Stern to build their business foundation.

One of the highlights of the first year experience is a course that also involves a trip to the Cannes Film Festival (additional fee required).

At Stern, there are also many opportunities for student involvement.

One of the most popular student clubs is the Entertainment Media, and Technology Association (EMTA).

Teams of Stern and Tisch students create short films that focus on branded entertainment.

In the past, students have created films for clients, such as Volvo, Verizon FIOS, Heineken, Johnnie Walker, Subway, and I LOVE NY.

The program is designed to be completed over the course of three years, instead of the approximately four years that it would take to complete the MBA and MFA degrees independently.
