I will let you know the 2016 cut off criteria to apply for IIT JEE advanced exam along with exam pattern details related to it so that you can remember easily. Here is the percentage cut off score JEE Advanced Cutoff for General Category: 10% in each subject and 35% in aggregate JEE Advanced Cutoff for OBC (NCL): 9% in each subject and 31.5% in aggregate JEE Advanced Cutoff for SC: 5% in each subject and 17.5% in aggregate JEE Advanced Cutoff for ST: 5% in each subject and 17.5% in aggregate JEE Advanced Cutoff for PwD candidates in each category: 5% in each subject and 17.5% in aggregate JEE Advanced Cutoff for Preparatory Course (in cases where eligible SC, ST, and PwD candidates are less than 1.4 times the seats reserved for them): 2.5% in each subject and 8.75% in aggregate Exam pattern There are two question papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration each. Both papers are compulsory. Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, viz., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The question papers will consist of objective type (multiple choice and numerical answer type) questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates. Negative marks will be awarded for incorrect answers to some of the questions. Number of papers: 2 Duration of exam: 3 hours per paper. Sections in each paper: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Regarding the exact marking scheme and number of questions asked, there is no fixed pattern. Total questions 120 (60 each in paper 1 and paper 2) Type of questions Multiple choice with single answer correct. Multiple choice with multiple answer correct. Numerical answer type questions.
