CS 653 Mobile Computing is a PG elective course open to PG and UG understudies who have taken a past early on systems administration course. We will cover intriguing themes over an assortment of portable frameworks (remote LANs, cell frameworks, and sensor arranges), and return to the plan of the different layers of the systems administration stack with regards to remote correspondence. The course will contain addresses, four issue sets, exams (midsem and endsem), and a course extend.

Grading

Issue Sets (20%). You will be given four issue sets/assignments over the span of the semester. You will be given roughly seven days each to settle them. Every issue set will represent 5% of your review. If you don't mind submit transcribed answers. You can talk about the issues with different understudies in the class, yet you should each compose your own particular answers. On the off chance that you work with your companions to take care of an issue, please list their names in your answer sheet.

There will be a complete course extend including remote reenactments and investigations. You will work in groups of 3. I will have a month to month audit of the advance of your venture (thrice amid the semester) with each group exclusively. Your review will be controlled by your advance at these month to month surveys (10%), alongside your last venture report (10%) and singular vivas (10%) toward the finish of the semester.

Course Content
 Overview of wireless and mobile systems (wireless LANs, cellular systems, sensor networks, etc.) and the challenges therein.
 The radio channel and wireless physical layer design.
 Medium access, multiplexing, link adaptation.
 Multihop routing protocols, routing metrics.
 Multicast, multihop data forwarding, opportunistic routing.
 Solutions to handle mobility at various layers of the networking stack.
 TCP behavior over wireless, other transport layer issues.
 Energy efficiency, localization, security.
 Smartphone-based platform architectures and applications.
 Future directions: dynamic spectrum access, heterogenuous networks, internet of things.

 Project team formation by Jan 17th, Friday.
 First project review: Jan 31 (Fri), Feb 1 (Sat).
 Problem set 1: Due Jan 30 (Thu) in class.
 Problem set 2: Due Feb 14 (Fri).
 Midsem: Feb 21 (Fri), 3-5 pm, Hall 2 and 3.
 Second project review: Mar 7 (Fri), Mar 8 (Sat).
 Problem set 3: Due Mar 20 (Thu) in class.
 Third project review: Apr 4 (Fri), Apr 5 (Sat).
 Problem set 4: Due Apr 10 (Thu) in class.
 Final project reports due: Apr 14 (Mon). Drop it in my office (or slip it under the door).
 Final project viva: Apr 16 (Wed).
 Endsem: April 25th (Fri), 2-5 pm, Hall 2,3.
