This is an opportunity for students to explore a variety of OB theories, concepts and research findings that will help them to understand, predict, and influence behaviour in organisational settings. Managing people is both a skill and an art. The course will challenge students to learn new ways of thinking about themselves as individuals, as members of small teams and as members of large organizations. Pre-Requisite - Please refer to the Course Catalogue on OASIS for the most updated list of pre-requisites / corequisites for this particular course. Do note that if this course has a co-requisite, it means that the course has to be taken together with another course. Dropping one course during BOSSbidding would result in both courses being dropped at the same time. Recommended Text And Readings- McShane & Von Glinow 2008. Organisational Behaviour: Emerging Realities for the Workplace Revolution, International Edition. 4 th Edition. McGraw-Hill Irwin. ISBN 978-0-07-110104-2 Additional readings will be assigned. Students are expected to keep abreast of current developments in the Asia-Pacific region by reading leading business dailies/weeklies like the Asian Wall Street Journal, Far Eastern Economic Review, The Economist, Business Times and Business Week. Class Timings - Class meets 3 times a week, over 4 weeks. Three hours per session. Assessment Method – Reflection Paper (2) 20% Class Participation 20% OB Research 3% Mid-term Quiz (MCQ) 27% Final Exam 30% Total 100% Grades will be based on a curve.
