The Mumbai University offers Master’s in Public Policy program of duration 2 years. Master’s in Public Policy The course is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in public service, including government agencies, international organisations, corporate sector, and non-profit sector Duration 2 years Eligibility- Applicants to the course must be a graduate from any university in India or abroad that is recognised by the University Grants Commission. Fees : (tentatively)- Indian Students : Rs. 34,405 Foreign Students: Rs. 54,405. Course Structure - The credit-based semester system shall be a full-time, two year, four semester course. A student shall have to acquire 96 credits to qualify for the degree of MPP, 48 of which shall be obtained from core courses while the other 48 shall be obtained from electives. Each semester is roughly of fifteen weeks duration. Core: In the first year of study, students attend eight core courses to build a strong disciplinary and methodological foundation. These are: • Foundations to Politics and Public Policy • Constitution, Law and Public Policy • Economics for Public Policy • Basic Statistics and Analytical Method • Public Policy Process • Social Context of Public Policy • International and Global Affairs • Research Methods and Designing Public Policy. The first four papers will be covered in Semester I and the next four in Semester II. Specialisation: Specialisation component of the curriculum is where students will acquire in-depth knowledge and sophistication in their selected areas of policy expertise.
