There are 26 Union Councils in Sukkur Municipal Corporation(SMC), the body which controls local government of Sukkur .The Union Councils elect their Chairmen and Vice Chairmen who then elect their Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively.

Nazim-e-Sukkur (Urdu: ناظم سکھر) is the Mayor who heads the Sukkur Municipal Corporation (SMC) which controls the Local Government system of Sukkur.

Municipal Corporation Sukkur have 26 Union Committees , 1 Municipal Committees and 4 Town Committees


Election :

Election Commission of Pakistan decided to conduct local government elections in Three phases . ECP have chosen 8 district of Sindh for Ist phase election . District Sukkur is included in this list of Phase 1 .
