National Eligibility Test (NET) For Lecturers Conducted By UGC

I passed the master degree and now I want to do Lectureship and for it, I have to write the NET exam. Is National Eligibility Test (NET) For Lecturers Conducted By UGC? Actually, my friend told me that NET exam conducted by the UGC and there is information available on internet for CBSE NET exam so I am confused?
