The National School of Drama is one of the principal theatre preparing establishments on the planet and the just a single of its kind in India. It was set up by the Sangeet Natak Akademi as one of its constituent units in 1959.

About Extension Programs

Extension Programs, under which NSD faculty and alumni direct workshops in different parts of the nation, were propelled in 1978 and from that point forward has led workshops and projects for grown-ups and kids the nation over incorporating some in Nepal, Sikkim, Ladhakh and Bhutan also.

Extension Program Activities

As the National School of Drama can admit just twenty six understudies for every year from crosswise over India, the School likewise runs an Extension Program, which acts as an effort program trying to connect with theater lovers crosswise over locales and dialects by leading theater workshops of different sorts.

This effort program directs here and now educating and preparing workshops that arrangement with an entire scope of subjects identified with and with theater. Subjects, for example, acting, development, light, make-up, theater history and writing among others, have been educated at such workshops.
