The New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation was established in 1982 under the New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation Act.

The purpose of the Corporation is to provide financing for municipalities and municipal enterprises through a central borrowing authority.

The DBRS rating applies to debt securities guaranteed by the Province.
