Prof Indranil Manna has been delegated as the new chief of IIT, Kanpur after endorsement by the President of India in his ability as Visitor of the head establishment.

Prof Manna's arrangement for the post will be compelling for a time of five years or till he accomplishes the age of 70, whichever is prior, as per the terms and conditions set down in the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 and the statutes of IIT, Kanpur.
