Garima Chauhan | Re: Is AMIE Valid for IAS AMIE (Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers) is a professional certification given by Institution of Engineers (India). The qualification can be earned by passing Section A, Project Work and Section B exam of the Institution. If one passes both sections of the exam, one becomes an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AM). AMIE is equivalent to B Tech. AMIE is recognised by Govt. of India and is valid for IES, UPSC, GATE, IES and Government Jobs (where Eq. B. Tech degree is also mentioned). An AMIE person can only apply in those Government exams where Eq. to B.E./B. Tech is written. IAS (Indian Administrative Services) Exam Eligibility One must be a citizen of India. One must hold a Bachelor's Degree from any of the recognised universities One who has appeared for the qualifying exam and awaiting result or one who yet to appear for the qualifying exam also eligible for the Preliminary Exam. Such candidates have to produce proof of passing the said exam along with the application for the Main Exam. One with professional and technical qualifications recognised by the Government or its equivalent is also eligible to apply One who has passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical Exam but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Exam. However, must submit a certificate from the concerned University that have passed the final professional medical exam. Age should between 21 to 32 years Number of Attempts: Restriction on the maximum number of attempts is effective since 1984: For General Candidates: 6 attempts. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Candidates (SC/ST): No Limits. Other Backward Classes (OBC): 9 attempts. |
