External Examination: 40 No. of credits: 02 Internal Assessment: 10 UNIT – I Analog signal processing: Scope and objectives, signals, operations on signals, signal symmetry, harmonic signals and sinusoids, commonly encountered signals, the impulse function, the doublet, moments and numericals/ problems, analog filters. Filter Approximation Models and Sensitivity Analysis Introduction to Analog filter theory, filter approximations, Butterworth approximation, Chebyshev approximation, Bessel filters, frequency transformations, lowpass-lowpass, low pass- highpass, lowpass-bandpass and low-pass - band reject transformations. Unit II: Operational Transconductance Amplifiers, Sensitivity and Active filter Synthesis Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA), Circuit Descriptions of OTA, Advantages, limitations. Elementary Transconductor Building Blocks: Resistor, Integrator, Amplifier, summers, gyrators and Modulators. First and Second order Filters, High-order filters, Sensitivity study, Sensitivity function, magnitude and pass sensitivities, single parameter sensitivity, multiple parameter sensitivity. Cascade approach, Simulated Inductance Approach, Operational Simulation of LC ladders and FDNR approach. Immitance converters and inverters, Generalized Impedance converter.
