Re: DRDO Sample Question Paper

Hello, here I am providing you the sample paper of the DRDO CEPTAM as under:

A spark voltage needs a voltage of
(a) 12 V
(b) 24V
(c) 220 V
(d) 14000 – 20000 V

In a cycle the spark lasts roughly for
(a) 1sec
(b) 1/10 sec
(c) 1/100 sec
(d) 1/1000 sec

A 12 V lead acid battery consists of
(a) three cells in series
(b) six cells in series
(c) three cells in parallel
(d) six cells in parallel

The need to top up a battery at frequent intervals indicates that the
(a) battery is being over charged
(b) charging rate is too low
(c) electrical system is shorting to earth
(d) battery stoppers are not sealing the cell

The ability of a battery to supply a current similar to that required by the starter motor
is tested by
(a) a wide scaled hydrometer
(b) a high rate discharge tester
(c) a voltmeter scaled 0.22V
(d) an ammeter scaled 0.100A

The relative density of the electrolyte in a lead acid battery is 1.280. This value indicates that the battery is
(a) fully discharged
(b) half charged
(c) three-quarters charged
(d) fully charged

The electrolyte used in a lead acid battery is
(a) sulphuric acid and dilute lead
(b) diluted lead and pure water
(c) pure water and distilled water
(d) distilled water and sulphuric acid

A fully charged battery has specific gravity of electrolyte
(a) 1.280
(b) 1.820
(c) 1.028
(d) 1.208

A fuse in an electrical circuit ‘blows’ as the result of a high
(a) voltage caused by a short circuit
(b) current flows caused by a short circuit.
(c) voltage caused by an open circuit
(d) current flow caused by an open circuit.

The electrolyte level in a lead acid battery should be checked periodically, if the level in low the battery should be topped up with
(a) diluted acid
(b) cleared distilled water
(c) sulphuric acid having a relative density of 1.280
(d) an electrolyte similar to that used in the battery.
