This Department was bifurcated to frame a free Department of Mathematics on first January, 1996. The Department conducts two Masters Degree programs, one in Mathematics and another in Operations Research and Computer Applications, a M.Phil. Program in Mathematics and Ph.D. programs. The division has been accepting a library stipend from NBHM since 1991. The office library has around 7500 books and subscribes 12 Indian and 3 remote diaries, Mathematical Reviews and Mathscinet. Additionally, the division has been co-ordinating the Mathematical Olympiads and related preparing programs for school youngsters with the help of NBHM since 1990. It is a 2 years degree programme. Admission Criteria: The aspirant should have passed Bachelors degree in mathematics or its equivalents. The admission as per university entrance test. Master of Philosophy in Mathematics Affiliated to:Cochin University of Science and Technology Accredited by:UGC Course Description : The department offers Master of Philosophy course in Mathematics. It is a one year degree programme. Admission Criteria: The aspirant should have passed Masters degree in Mathematics. The admission through departmental test conduct by the Department of Mathematics. Master of Science in Operation Research and Computer Application Affiliated to:Cochin University of Science and Technology Accredited by:UGC Course Description : The department offers Master of Science in Operation Research and Computer Application. It is two years degree course. Admission Criteria: The aspirant should have passed Bachelor degree in Mathematics or its equivalent. The admission as per university entrance test.
