PROCESSING LAB

SUGGESTED LIST OF EXPERIMENTS - IMAGE PROCESSING
1. Arithmetic operations on images, Image Negative, Image Cropping
2. Histogram Processing – Techniques
3. Line and Edge detection
4. FFT and DCT of images
5. Contact stretching, Threshold technique - Enhancement
6. Adaptive filters. Sharpening and smoothing Filters.
7. Restoration filters- Median Filtering, Mean, Min-Max, Band pass/Rejects, and notch.
8. Compression technique
9. Basic Morphological Operations
10. Segmentation using watershed transform

SUGGESTED LIST OF EXPERIMENTS - SIGNAL PROCESSING
1. Representation of basic signals
2. Sampling and Quantization
3. Fast Fourier transform of the signals
4. Circular convolution and Linear convolution
5. Digital IIR filter (Butter worth &Chebyshev)
6. FIR filter design (Hamming &Hanning)
7. Correlation of the signals
8. Analysis of EEG & ECG signal
9. Detection of QRS complex in ECG
10. Analysis of EMG signal

COURSE OUTCOMES
On completion of the course, student will be able to
CO1 - Describe various components of digital image and signal processing tool.
CO2 - Illustrate the steps involved in processing digital images.
CO3 - Devise new approach to solve issues in certain applications.
CO4 - Apply the signal processing algorithms for real time bio-signals.
CO5 - Analyze the characteristics of the signal and Design digital filters for bio signal processing.
CO6 - Assess the impact of image and signal processing tool for biomedical application.
