The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur is fully financed by MHRD, Government of India.

In conformity with the policy of Government of India, 50% seats are reserved for students from Himachal Pradesh and remaining 50% are earmarked for students from other States.

A few seats are also available for Foreign Students under Self Financing Scheme of Government of India.
