The National Institute of Technology Patna (NIT Patna), some time ago Bihar School of Engineering and Bihar College of Engineering, is an open designing foundation situated in Patna in the Indian condition of Bihar. It was renamed to NIT Patna, by the Government of India on January 28, 2004.[2] It is a self-sufficient foundation works specifically under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India

The National Institute of Technology Durgapur otherwise called NIT Durgapur or NITD, is a Central Government building school situated in Durgapur, West Bengal, India. Some time ago known as the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur (REC Durgapur), it is among the initial 8 Regional Engineering Colleges built up in India and was established in 1960 by the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.

History

NIT Patna is the second most established building school of India. Its cause can be followed to 1886 with the foundation of a review preparing school and ensuing renaming it to Bihar school of Engineering in 1900. Bihar College of Engineering was the primary foundation to be specifically moved up to NIT status. In 2007, it was allowed Institute of National Importance status as per the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.

Keeping in mind the end goal to serve the developing interest for prepared specialized labor, the Government of India began 14 RECs somewhere around 1959 and 1965 (NITs situated at Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, Kurukshetra, Nagpur, Rourkela, Srinagar, Surathkal, Surat, Tiruchirappalli, and Warangal).

The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur (once in the past Regional Engineering College, Durgapur) was set up in 1960 under an Act of the Parliament of India as one of the eight such universities, as a co-agent wander between the Government of India and the Government of West Bengal planned to work as a pace setter for building training in the nation and to cultivate national incorporation.

Campus

NIT Patna capacities from a 40 sections of land (16 ha) grounds along Ashok Rajpath, topographically which lies on the southern bank of the stream Ganges precisely inverse the purpose of its juncture with waterway Gandak. Land for another grounds, a 100 sections of land (40 ha) plot, has been doled out at Sikandarpur town in Bihta, around 40 km from Patna.

Rankings

NIT Patna has been positioned as the 57th best Engineering College of India in the Edu-Rand Rankings of 2015. The review was done together by Edu, an Indian organization and Rand Corporation, a non-benefit American thinktank. NIT Patna is positioned 87 in National Institutional Ranking Framework distributed by Ministry of Human Resource Development in April 2016

As indicated by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), National Institute of Technology Durgapur is positioned 30 in the 2016 designing college rankings.
