National Institute of Technology, Puducherry (NITPY) arranged in 258 sections of land close town Poovam in Thiruvettakudy, Karaikal, is one of the thirty one National Institutes of Technology. NIT Puducherry was endorsed by the Government of India in 2009, as a major aspect of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2007– 2012).

B.Tech Students are admitted to the Institute in view of the imprints got in the Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE – Mains).
