NIT Uttarakhand was constructed in 2014. The permanent campus of NIT Uttarakhand is being constructed in Sumari, Srinagar (Garhwal), extending over 300 acres of land.

Sumari is located at a distance of 22 Km from Srinagar on approximately 30 minutes travelling time.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Harish Rawat laid the foundation stone of permanent campus of NIT Uttarakhand on 19 February 2014.
