Incorporated in the year 1958 as a Government of India completely owned public enterprise. National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (NMDC) is under the authoritative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.

Since initiation engaged with the investigation of extensive variety of minerals including iron metal, copper, shake phosphate, lime stone, dolomite, gypsum, bentonite, magnesite, jewel, tin, tungsten, graphite, shoreline sands and so forth.

NMDC is India's single biggest iron metal maker, directly delivering around 30 million tons of iron metal from 3 completely motorized mines viz., Bailadila Deposit-14/11C, Bailadila Deposit-5, 10/11A (Chhattisgarh State) and Donimalai Iron Ore Mines (Karnataka State).

Macro Objectives

To extend the operations in the regions of Mining and Mineral Processing to meet the developing requests from local and worldwide Markets.

Accomplish global guidelines in per capita profitability, esteem expansion and cost adequacy.

To expand the iron mineral generation ability to 50 MTPA by 2018-19 and 67 MTPA by 2021-22.
