NTS And NMMS Exam

I want to apply for NMMS/NTS Examination so can you please tell me the eligibility criteria to apply for the exam?

State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Solan (Himachal Pradesh) proposes to hold two examinations -

H. P. National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) for Class VIII

H.P Talent Search Examination (HPTSE /NTSE- I ) for class X

H.P. National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (For Class VIII Students):

Under NMMS scheme 832 scholarships for students of H.P are given by MHRD, New Delhi.

The scholarship worth Rs. 500/- per month will be awarded to the poor meritorious students for 4 years i.e. from class IX to XII.

Eligibility for NMMS

Any regular student studying in VIII class of Govt/Govt. aided schools in H.P with 55% marks in Class VII (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/Physically challenged group)

The parental income of the students should not exceed Rs. 1, 50,000/- (One lac fifty thousand) per annum from all sources and original certificate to this effect issued by the SDM/Tehsildar/ Naib-Tehsildar) is required.

Attach attested photocopy of class VII certificate with the Application form.

National Talent Search Scheme (For Class X Students):

One thousand scholarships are awarded to meritorious students selected in the two stage selection process of NTSE .

The students who qualify Stage- I of NTSE/HPTSE (State quota 34 ) will be eligible to appear in NTSE- II to be conducted by NCERT, New Delhi

Students selected in NTSE-II shall be awarded scholarship amounting to Rs. 1250/- per month for class XI & XII and Rs. 2000/- per month for under graduate & post graduate studies.

Eligibility for NTSE

Any regular student studying in class X of any recognized school in H.P. (JNV, KV, Govt. or Private schools) and having atleast 60% marks (Relaxation of 5% for reserved category student) in class IX can appear in this examination.

Student doing 10th through ODL Mode like NIOS, SOS etc. can also apply provided he/she is not employed and is below the age of 18 years

Candidates claiming caste/tribe reservation must attach attested copy of SC/ST certificate issued by SDM/Tehsildar/ Naib-Tehsildar with the application form.

Candidates belonging to PCG must attach certificate issued by competent authority (CMO) stating disability status of 40% or above.

Fee: Rs. 40/- for General Category, Rs. 30 for SC/ST/PCG (payable through IPO/DD in favour of Principal, SCERT Solan)
