The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), a national scholarship examination for awarding scholarships to class 10th students is conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). NTSE is a two-tier exam where stage 1 is conducted by the States/UTs and stage 2 exam is conducted at national level by NCERT. NTSE Important Dates 2018 Notification July 31, 2017 Application begins Aug-17 Last date of NTSE 2018 application form Will be announced separately by each state/UT NTSE stage 1 exam for Mizoram, Nagaland, Andaman and Nicobar Islands November 04, 2017 NTSE stage 1 examination for all other states and Union Territories November 05, 2017 National level NTSE Stage II exam 2018 May 13, 2018 NTSE Eligibility Criteria 2018 One appearing for NTSE stage 1 and stage 2 exam need to satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below - • One currently studying in class 10 is eligible to apply for stage 1 exam of NTSE 2018 • One must not be more than 18 years of age as on July of year of the exam • One studying through open learning/ distance mode education is also eligible to apply, however, must not be above 18 years of age and not be employed anywhere. • One must not be re-appear exam of class 10 NTSE Exam Pattern 2018 • Mental Ability Test (MAT) – this test is based on 50 objective type questions for one mark each. One is provided 45 minutes to attempt the test. • Language Aptitude Test (LAT) – It is of language test for English or Hindi as selected by the candidate. There will be 50 questions for the language paper carrying a total of 50 marks and the time duration will be 45 minutes. • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) – It is scholastic aptitude test for a total of 100 marks and will be carrying 100 questions. For stage 2 also same NTSE exam pattern will be followed, however, if there are any changes in the exam pattern it will be updated here. For stage 1, negative marking scheme has not been updated but there will be negative marking of 1/3 marks in stage 2 exam of NTSE for wrong attempts. |
