NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) is taken by the NCERT with a purpose to identify talented students and nurture their talent in one or more specialized areas. This Exam covers areas like Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law.

Eligibility Criteria:
Students of Class X studying in recognized schools who have got 65% marks in class IX are eligible to appear.

1. Mental Ability Test (MAT)
No. of Questions: 50
Maximum Marks: 50
Time: 45 Minutes

2. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
a) Language Test
No. of Questions: 50
Maximum Marks: 50
Time: 45 Minutes

b) Sciences, Mathematics & Social Sciences
No. of Questions: 100
Maximum Marks: 100
Time: 90 Minutes

Last Date for Submission of Application Form: Last week of August
Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands: 1st week of Nov
Examination in All other States and Union Territories: 1st week of Nov

Stage II (National)
Examination in All States and Union Territories: 2nd week of May
