Maharatna ONGC is the biggest maker of unrefined petroleum and regular gas in India, contributing around 70 for every penny of Indian local generation. The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), with its long haul plan to make Ramanathapuram locale a gas-delivering zone, has established the framework for building a gas-gathering station at Valantharavai town, 9 km from Ramanathapuram.
