Oriental Bank of Commerce Ltd
Hi I would like to have the history of the Oriental bank of Commerce as well as the shareholding pattern in the Bank? Oriental Bank of Commerce is an India-based bank set up in Lahore (then the city of British India, and at present in Pakistan), is one of the general population area banks in India. Rai Bahadur Lala Sohan Lal, the principal Chairman of the Bank, established OBC in 1943 in Lahore. Inside four years of its appearing, OBC needed to face Partition. The bank needed to shut down its branches in the recently framed Pakistan and movement its enrolled office from Lahore to Amritsar. Lala Karam Chand Thapar, the then Chairman of the Bank, in a one of a kind motion respected the duties made to the contributors from Pakistan and paid each rupee to its withdrawing clients. The Bank had made Initial Public Offer of 60 Million value shares of Rs. 10/ - each for money at a premium of Rs. 50/ - per offer in October 1994. Further, the Bank had made Follow-on Public Offer of 58 Million Equity Shares of Rs. 10/ - each for money at a premium of Rs. 240/ - per offer collecting Rs. 14500 Million in April 2005. Subsequently, the paid up value offer capital has gone up to Rs. 2505.397 Million and the Government of India's stake in the offer capital of the Bank has boiled down to 51.09% from 66.48%. The expansive shareholding example of the Bank as on 31st March, 2016 is as under : Government of India 55.17% FPIs and NRIs 9.12% Banks, Financial Institutions and Insurance organizations 16.42% Common Funds/UTIs and Trusts 7.49% Others 11.80% Stock Price as on 13th May 2016: BSE May 13, 16:00 83.00-1.30 (-1.54%) NSE May 13, 15:59 83.15-1.15 (-1.36%) Last edited by Neelurk; June 22nd, 2020 at 03:02 PM. |
