Osmania University LLB Admission Procedure
Hello sir, I want to get admission in LLB in Osmania University. Kindly tell me the admission procedure to LLB in Osmania University and give me the eligibility criteria also. Osmania University was established in the year 1899. Osmania University has a glorious history of more than 100 years. In the year 1923 the “law class” and “Judicial Test” classes were abolished and Law Department was constituted in the Osmania University. In 1942, LL.M. course was introduced with Comparative Jurisprudence and Comparative Constitutional Law as compulsory subjects with an option to choose either International Law or Conflict of Laws and Muslim Law or Hindu Law. LLB course offered by Osmania University Osmania University offers two types of LL.B courses LL.B. (3-Years Degree Course) 5-Years B.A., LL.B., integrated Degree Course Entrance Exam: Admission to these courses is carried out on the basis of LL.B. Common Entrance Examination (LAWCET) conducted in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The entrance test is conducted in the month of May or June every year. Eligibility: Candidates who have passed higher secondary examination with a 45% of marks or above are eligible to appear the entrance exam. Admission Procedure: Admission to the LLB course is on the basis of scores obtained in the national level entrance exam such as LL.B. Common Entrance Examination (LAWCET). The entrance test is conducted in the month of May or June every year. Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 35 % of marks so as to clear the examination. Candidates belong to reserved categories are exempted from minimum qualifying marks. Candidates will be short listed as per their scores in the entrance exam for the admission procedure. Final selection will be on the basis of scores in qualifying exam, entrance exam and submission of all relevant documents. Exam Pattern of LAWCET: There will be a total of 120 questions in the examination. Each question carries one mark. The test contains three sections Part A, Part B and Part C. Each section carries 40 questions. Part A will contain questions from General Knowledge and Mental Ability. Part B contains questions from topics such as Current Affairs and Part C carries questions to measure Aptitude to study Law. Questions will be asked to evaluate candidates’ ability to understand the subject. Questions will be in objective type multiple choice formats. Medium of instruction will be English and Telugu languages. Maximum time allotted for the examination is 90 minutes.
