About the Department

The Department of Education, Patna University, and Patna was established as a separate department of Post-Graduate teaching and research in 1954. The Department of Education is a centre of paramount importance in the field of Teacher Education in India. It is the first Post-Graduate Department of Education recognized by NCTE in Bihar and Jharkhand which prepares professionals for Institutions/organizations engaged in teaching and research in Educational Studies
