As per my detail the University of Madras is offering Post Graduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences course from its various affiliated colleges.

The Post Graduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences the department of Endocrinology was first established in January 1969.

The Department of Medical Biochemistry was added on 01.03.1969. Later the PGIBMS was expanded in 1976.

The third phase of expansion of PGIBMS was in 1977, when the department of Anatomy and department of Pathology were added.
