The Physician Executive MBA (PEMBA) program at the University of Tennessee is a preeminent, nationally ranked degree program exclusively for physicians seeking leadership, management, and business skills.
The innovative blended-mode course combines distance learning (about 24 hours a week of class time and assignments) with four one-week residence periods on the University of Tennessee campus.

-meet requirements for our individual program.


Graduate School Admission

Admission to graduate school for Physician Executive MBA candidates includes the following requirements:

-A medical doctorate (MD or DO) from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent (MBBS, MB ChB, BM, BMed).

-GMAT scores are not required.

-A minimum grade-point average of 2.7 out of a possible 4.0, or a 3.0 during the senior year of undergraduate study.

-Proficiency in spoken and written English. International applicants whose native language is not English must have taken the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) within the last two years.



Program Fee

The 2016 program fee for the Physician Executive MBA is $76,000.

The PEMBA program fee includes the following:

-All university tuition and relevant fees

-Books and materials, including some course-specific software such as Microsoft Office 365

-Computer boot camp and technical support

-Transportation to and from classes and special events during residence periods

-Most meals during residence periods
