Qualification

A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years HR experience, including 5 years in a managerial role, is required. A Master’s Degree and professional certification in Human Resources is strongly preferred.

Skills required

The HR Director is responsible for a staff of 37 with an operating budget of approximately $3.5 million.

The position requires an ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and be adept in the skills of persuasion when articulating complex HR concepts while interacting with boards, commissions and employee groups.

The HR Director must serve on teams and committees, and partner with various departments and agencies for effective results requiring a high-degree of skill in conflict resolution.

To effectively be a change agent, the ideal candidate must possess exceptional skills as a collaborator and be committed to implementing results based solutions.

The successful candidate must also be technologically competent and willing to consider innovative ways to utilize technology in the implementation of traditional HR functions
