I want to get the information about PRAYAS, festival of National Institute of Technology Hamirpur?

PRAYAS is the Annual cultural-cum-charity festival of Literacy Mission Prayas National Institute of Technology NIT Hamirpur.

It provides opportunity for the kids of Literacy Mission Prayas to come forward and showcase their talents in different extracurricular activities and undoubtedly enhance their confidence.

Over the years this function has generated a lot of interest among the students and faculty of NIT Hamirpur.

In this fest, students of NIT Hamirpur perform as one with those of the Literacy Mission.

This year, PRAYAS was organised on the 16th of April, 2016 with a theme ' Learning Today for a Better Tomorrow '.

Activities-

Education:

Daily evening classes from 4:45pm to 6:15pm by the student volunteers of NITH

It involves computer courses and soft skill development courses, moral classes by faculty members & preparation for competitive exams like IIT-JEE, AIEEE, Navodaya, CPMT, and NTSE etc.

Sports:

Opportunities of learning different sports

Yoga and Pranayama sessions are organized daily in the morning.

Extra-curricular:

Singing, dancing, painting and other literary competitions are conducted among children to groom their literary and confidence levels.

Clothes distribution:

Seasonal clothes are distributed among the children and their families to help them survive against harsh weather conditions.

Health care & nutrition:

Creating awareness about health and hygiene not only among the children but also their parents through Health awareness camps

Nutrition and protein supplements are provided to children regularly.

Festival celebration:

Celebration of all national and cultural festivals by the Literacy kids together with student volunteers and faculty members.

Event participation:

Active participation of kids in various institutional events such as Hill'ffair and 'PRAYAS', the Annual cultural-cum-charity event of Literacy Mission is ensured.
