The Armed Forces Medical College is a premier medical college in India. It is located in Pune Cantonment in Pune in the state of Maharashtra. The college is managed by the Indian Armed Forces.

The AFMC is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.


Admission Procedure for MBBS

Document Scrutiny:

The candidates called for admission will have to produce the original Admit card for AIPMT containing the AIPMT Roll number, copy of the online application to AFMC Pune, original mark sheets of their qualifying examination and other documents, details of which will be given in the joining instructions handed over to the candidates at the time of interview.


Medical Examination:

All candidates will be subjected to medical examination as per the requirement of the Armed Forces and as per the laid down standards.

The candidates who have been declared medically unfit by the Medical Board of AFMC will not figure in the final merit list for admission.

Duration for MBBS:
The duration of MBBS course is 4 ½ years followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year.

Number of Seats
Total Number of Seats are 130. 105 seats are for boys and 25 seats are for girls.

Ten seats out of 130 are reserved for candidates belonging to the scheduled castes/scheduled tribes.


Eligibility Criteria

-A candidate should be citizen of India. Foreign nationals of Indian origin may be admitted into AFMC only after they have acquired Indian citizenship or in respect of whom the Ministry of Home Affairs issues a certificate of eligibility.

-Must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.

-Should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence.

-10+2 or equivalent: Should attain the age of 17 years
