As per your request, I am going to tell you about the procedure to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer. Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: A citizen of India, or A subject of Nepal, or A subject of Bhutan, or A Tibetan refugee, or A person of Indian origin Education: Candidate need to pass the gradation degree form recognized university in any discipline, the candidate who are in final year may also eligible to apply. Age Criteria: Candidate age should be between 21 years to 30 years. While 3 years age relaxations give OBC categories students and 5 years age relaxations give SC/ST categories students. Number of Attempts General Category : 6 OBC : 9 SC/ST : unlimited Selection Procedure: Selection of the candidate depends on followings: Civil Services prelim exam Civil Services mains exam Interview Civil Services prelim exam: It contains two papers. Both papers are objective type in nature. IAS Prelim Exam Syllabus Syllabus of Paper I -(200 marks) Duration : Two hours Current events of national and international importance. History of India and Indian National Movement. Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World. Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc. General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization General Science Syllabus for Paper II-(200 marks) Duration: Two hours Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills; Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level) English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level). Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper. The questions will be of multiple choices, objective type. Civil Services Mains Paper For this exam students need to write the 9 paper, from the 9 papers students can choose their 5 papers. Following are the options papers of the Civil Services Mains exam.
