As per my knowledge the PTU is having approval by UGC and also by AICTE. PTU is a State Government University established by Government of Punjab by a Legislative Act.

The IKG-PTU has been given recognition by University Grant Commission for running Distance Education Programme.

PTU is recognized under section 2(f) of UGC act and offers programs only as per nomenclature defined by UGC. All regular colleges of PTU are approved by AICTE
PTU is a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities)

PTU degrees are recognized world over including certification by NARRIC for Britain. MSC-IT of PTU is rated equivalent to Masters Degree in Britain.
