Professor Pant has showing knowledge of 32 years at the Delhi University and the Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has administered more than 25 Ph.D. what's more, 75 M.Phil. degree holders. He has served on the Court of JNU and in addition on the Executive and Academic Councils.

Professor Pant is likewise a Member, Executive Council of Kumaun University, Uttaranchal, and Advisor to the Department of Culture and to the Steering Committee for Technological Missions, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

He has been Course Director and Joint Course Director for the IFS probationers preparing program at the School of International Studies, JNU in the vicinity of 1971 and 1980. He was likewise Member of the Institute of Defense Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi and Member of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi. He has been a visitor teacher at the National Defense College of India and at the Makahanlal Chaturvedi Patrachar Vishvavidyalaya, Bhopal. He has been consultant to the National Book Trust of India, and Member, Committee on Youth Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, GOI and the AVRC Roorkee University.

Professor Pant has contributed examine articles in different presumed diaries including India Quarterly, International Studies and IDSA Journal, and daily paper segments and articles on current issues and subjects of group enthusiasm for The Times of India, Hindustan Times, Economic Times, The Hindu, The Hindustan Times, The Tribune, Asian Age, Deccan Chronicle and The Pioneer in English and Navabharat Times, Dainik Bhaskar and Hindustan in Hindi.
