Hi I would like to know the eligibility for an aspirant to take the examination for the Registered Dietician in India?

Registration is awarded to applicants who successfully qualify in the Registration examination. Eligibility Requirements for Registration Examination from 1st January 2016. 6 months Life Membership of Indian Dietetic Association (IDA) by the August 31st of that year. Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics / Masters in Nutrition & Dietetics/ Masters in Food and Nutrition. 3 plus 1 year format; where the candidate must have done a minimum of 4 years in Home Science or Foods, Nutrition & Dietetics. Internship 6 months internship (after completion of qualifying examinations (3 plus 1 years)) in a multi-specialty hospital with a minimum of 100, in the hospitals acknowledged by R.D. Board (as per the hospital list on the website) and supervised by a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with a minimum of two yrs experience or a senior dietitian with at least ten years experience (OR) 6 months internship (after completion of qualifying examinations (3 plus 1 years)) in a **Super-specialty hospital with a minimum of 100 beds in the hospitals recognized by R. D. Board (as per the hospital list on the website) and supervised by a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with a minimum of two yrs experience or a senior dietitian with at least ten years experience (OR) 3 months internship without any break (after completion of qualifying examinations (3 plus 1 years)) in a Super-specialty hospital with a minimum of 100 beds in the hospitals acknowledged by R.D. Board (as per the hospital list on the website) and supervised by a Registered Dietitian (R. D.) with minimum two yrs of experience or a senior dietitian with at least ten years experience AND Three months of internship in a multispecialty hospital with the criteria as mentioned above. The internship can be done continuously or in 2 installments (3+3) months with a break of not more than 6 weeks. The internship should be finished on or before August 31st of the year of applying for the R. D. exam (OR) Experience 2 years of experience as a full time dietitian in a multi-specialty / **Super Specialty hospital with a minimum of 100 beds. Registered Dieticiam Examination Pattern is as follows: There will be 2 test papers - each of 2 hours duration Paper I Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry Paper II Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management. Each paper will consist of Three sections. Section A&B: Objective questions (50 marks) & Multiple choice (20 marks) Section C Clinical oriented question (30 marks) The candidate is required to obtain 50% for qualifying, and a minimum of 45% for each paper. |
