NIT, Srinagar is paradise for understudies having a place from different parts of the nation. To accomodate the understudies, NIT Sgr gives office to understudies to live in lodgings inside the foundation. There are six inns altogether, out of which 5 inns are reserved for young men and one for young ladies.

Every one of the lodgings are named after different popular streams having a place with the district, in particular INDUS, CHENAB, JEHULM ,TAWI and DAL Lake. Every inn has a seperate mess.

Punishment:-

At the Institution Level:-

Contingent on the nature and gravity of the offense as set up by the counter ragging Committee of the Institution, the conceivable disciplines for those discovered liable of ragging at the Institution level should be any one or any blend of the accompanying :

Suspension from going to classes and scholastic benefits.

Withholding/pulling back grant/partnership and different advantages .

Suspending from showing up in any test/examination or other assessment process.

Suspending from speaking to the Institution in any regional,national or global meet,tournament,youth festival,etc.

Suspension/removal from the lodging.

Cancelation of affirmation.

Rustication from the Institution for period running from 1 to 4 semesters.

Fine ragging between rupees 25,000/ - and rupees 1 lakh.
