Re: Requirements for Indian Administrative Services

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination every year to hire the hard working candidates for Civil Services of state government and public sector responsibility.

Contenders who want to become an IAS officer and going to apply for upcoming IAS Entrance Examination they can check the IAS Eligibility.


Education:

Candidates have degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a Deemed University under the UGC Act,

Those candidates are awaiting their graduation exam results are also eligible to appear for the Preliminary Examination.

Age:

For General Category candidates, the new age limit is 32 years

For OBC Category candidates, the new age limit is 35 years

For SC/SC Category candidates, the new age limit is 37 years

For Physically Handicapped candidates, age limit is 42, 45 and 47 years


Number of attempts:

General Category number of attempts is 06.
OBC Category number of attempts is 09.
For SC/SC Category number of attempts unlimited
For Physically Handicapped candidate’s number of attempts is 09
