Retirement Age Of Soldier In Indian Army
Hi buddy here I have come to know retirement age in the Indian Army, so would you plz let me know about the same here ??

The Indian Army is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Army Retirement Age Of Soldier In Indian Army Officers: Short Service Commission(SSC): They are given tenure of 10+4 years, meaning after 10 year of service, they can either retire or continue for next four years, during which period they can retire whenever they want. All this is assuming they don’t opt for or are not granted Permanent Commission Permanent Commission (PC) : They have to serve for atleast 20 years to be eligible for pension and other post retirement amenities. The retirement age depends upon rank and nature of corps (Arms,Services etc). Lieutenant : 52 (Arms) Captain: 52 (Arms) Major: 52 (Arms) Lt Colonel: 54 (Arms) Colonel : 54 (Arms) Brigadier: 56 (Arms) Major General: 58 (Arms) Lt. General: 60 (Arms) General: This rank is ex-officio granted to Chief of Army Staff(COAS), so 3 years as COAS or at the age of 62, whichever is earlier, irrespective of corps. Enlisted: For enlisted men, the retirement age depends on rank,number of year served and maximum serviceable age. Junior Commissioned Officer(JCO): Naib Subedar :After 26 years service or at the age of 52, whichever is sooner * Subedar: After 28 years service or at the age of 52, whichever is sooner * Subedar Major: After 32 years service or at the age of 52, whichever is sooner * Other Ranks: Lance Naik :After 22 years service or at the age of 49, whichever is sooner Naik: After 22 years service or at the age of 49, whichever is sooner * Havaldar: After 24 years service or at the age of 49, whichever is sooner Soldier: After 17 years service or at the age of 42, whichever is sooner |
